HOTELS/TEAM DINNERS

1. GRAND RAPIDS MAY 4-6: A block of Rooms has been reserved for the Grand Rapids tournament(May 4 &5). Our primary hotel will be the Grand Rapids Country Inn 1-218-327-4960. Rooms are $80.00 for both Friday and Saturday.
We have a block at the Super 8 1-218-327-1108. Rooms are avaliable for both Friday and Saturday night. The Super 8 rooms are primarily for the Proctor team as well.

FARGO, APRIL 21ST We have a block of 20 rooms reserved at the Expressway Suites in Fargo. the rooms are all double queen suites at $92.95.

PARENT VOLUNTEERS
We will need help for an number of activities.

1.Sideline managers: We are looking for Sideline Managers for all four of of primary teams- Varsity, JV, 7/8, and 5/6. The sideline managers will be responsible for the gathering of equipment, arranging cones and end line balls, and locating a timekeeper.

2. TIMEKEEPERS/STATISTICIANS: We are also in need of a parent to do stats at each gaame. Typically we supply time keepers for all our home games, and the awayoccasional games as the Rapids Tourney.

*We will provide some training for these positions.

REGISTRATION/INFORMATION SESSION PLANNED
The session will be at the Radisson Duluth, Great Hall, at 6:30 p.m. the Radisson is located at 505 W. Superior Street.

SUNDAY FEBRUARY 12TH.

Please try and attend. Local equipment and Lacrosse vendors will be invited. Reps from the Nighthawks, YMCA and UMD staff have also been invited.
*Coaching staff will also be there.
We should have a finalized Varsity, JV and 9/10 Schedule by this time. The 7/8 and 5/6 schedule should be in the works as well.

LACROSSE IN DULUTH

We have a couple of exciting events coming up that I wanted to keep you up to date on.

MARSHALL INTERIM:
On January 16th and 17th, Homegrown Lacrosse came to Duluth to do Seminars with Middle schoolers at Marshall School. 39 students attended these sessions.
APRIL 15:
We are in the middle of talking with the UMD staff about holding some games at Maloski Field on April 15th. The Bulldogs will host the University of Illinois at noon. The varsity and JV will play St. cloud North, and the Nighthawks will play as well.This would give us an opportunity to play on a larger stage, and develop a closer relationship with a nationally-ranked MCLA team.

RECRUITMENT:
We will be starting a new recruitment contest. We have a number of excellent prizes, balls, lacrosse bags, and sticks. We will be awarding prizes to the CURRENT Chargers players who recruit the most NEW players. New players can also win prizes-details soon. New players will list the current player who recruited them on their registration form.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

5/6 TEAMS:
We are pleased to announce plans to add a 5-6 team to our program offerings for the 2012 Spring Season. Details and schedule are still to be determined. Our 5/6 team should begin practice the week of March 19th. We would expect that they will practice a total of about 5 hours a week, split into 3 nights. Practice should start inside at Pioneer Hall. The game schedule has not been set yet. We should play a total of 8 games on 4 Sundays. We will probably play at least 2 games here in Duluth. We are hoping to have some access to the sticks and helmets from the YMCA. We will also participate in 2 tournaments in early June. The first in Champlin will be the first weekend in June.The second should be the weekend of June 10th.
The season will begin the weekend of April 21-22. We will try and host at least one weekend jamboree.

9/10 TEAM:
We will also be adding a 9/10 team this season. There are a shrinking number of MBSLA teams who play a JV Schedule, and we wanted to make sure that we were able to play in both divisions. We also would like to expand the number of teams we can compete with. The 9/10 teams will allow us to increase our number of games against some of the strongest teams in the MBSLA.
